Our Coaches

Rob Hindmarsh

As head coach Rob oversees all squads. Rob is a Silver Licence coach and has 8 years of coaching experience. Apart from the years of experience at club level Rob has also worked as team coach for SAL & QSA teams, been Head Coach on several camps held overseas, at the AIS and other locations throughout Australia and also worked as Assistant Coach to Stephan Widmer at the QAS.

Rob has lots of experience and knowledge of swimmers of all ages from juniors to the development of Age Group Swimmers and has also been involved with the high performance side of swimming while at the QAS. Rob has a strong passion for coaching and his focus is to deliver a Swimming Program that will help swimmers reach their potential and give them the opportunity to progress down the pathway of swimming from Entry Level to the Elite.


Tsuyoshi Kimura 

Tsuyoshi has been a full time coach in Japan and in Australia for over 20 years. He is a certified silver licence coach and also holds an Austswim teachers licence.

In Japan he was a head coach at a very successful club which achieved several all Japan titles. Tsuyoshi's passion is coaching age group swimmers, he is extremely technically orientated. He is currently working with Rob as intermediate coach.

Tsuyoshi coached Japan Aged Champiomships medalists including Backstroke National record holder and finalists, and Open National Swimmers.


Nao Heffernan

Nao is our entry level squad coach and assistant to Tsuyoshi.

Nao first started teaching swimming in Japan before she commenced teaching in Australia in 2003. She is a qualified learn to swim teacher and gained her bronze license in 2006. Swimming has always been a large part of her life.  Nao was a competitive swimmer and as a swimmer is fully aware of  the impact that quality coaching can have. Swimming has given her many opportunities to learn the importance of perseverance and the value of hard work.
